Constantly throughout the text, Valentino always gives some indication that no one is listentning.
"I put my fingers in my eayrs. I knew it all already and i was tired." (138)
"Because each attendee will feel in neccessary to be heard, the same pointes are usually heard half a dozen times." (166)
The fact that there is always a pattern of being inaudible, the repetition of saying "you're being unheard" makes the structure of the text a cry for help.
